1. What we collect
- Your email address, to verify you and stop duplicate submissions.
- A one-time signature you choose, to credit your stories.
- The videos you upload and the votes you cast.
We do not ask for your name, phone number, or social profiles. Stories stay anonymous during a round.
2. How we use it
- To run the competition: show stories, count votes, declare winners.
- To send you a one-time login code by email.
- To keep the leaderboard and winner showcase working.
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. Video streaming is handled by a third-party provider so your videos can play smoothly; that provider only sees what's needed to stream.
3. How long we keep it
Your email and signature stay as long as your account exists. Uploaded videos stay for as long as they appear in a round, leaderboard, or winner showcase. You can ask us to delete your account and associated content at office@thestorycomb.com.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use a small amount of local storage to keep you signed in between visits. We don't use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
5. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the data we hold about you. Email office@thestorycomb.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time. If you're in the EU or UK, you have the rights given by the GDPR and UK GDPR.
6. Children
The Storycomb is not intended for anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we'll remove the account.
